Gokudo is a wonderful place to hang out and relax on a couch with friends and a drink. Beautiful atmosphere with excellent service! It’s best to go early though, say around 5pm or so, when it’s less crowded, less noisy and much more comfortable for quiet discussion. I couldn’t say ... that the cocktails are the best in town, and the food is good but nothing to rave about, but it’s lots of fun, especially if you want to show friends from out of town a good time. Recently, I tried the Wagyu Shot, which was fine, but didn’t blow my mind. I wish they were less westernized in taste, and had more of a Japanese hit of flavour, with a spice of wasabi. Read more

I loved the magical moody Japanese vibe of this cocktail bar located discreetly on Cathcart Street in downtown Montreal. Note 12$ underground parking i conveniently located next door! I loved my experience here, service at times was a little slow, but while you wait you absorb the cool vibe all ... around you so it makes up for it! Staff was friendly and the cocktails are cool! I had a great time at this Japanese restaurant and bar. The ambiance and the vibe were really nice and relaxing. The music was not too loud and suited the mood. The food was delicious and authentic. I especially enjoyed the Sake and the Maki. The service was awesome and ... attentive. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed.
