PIZZERIA MORETTI - Montreal, Quebec

Horrible. It was the worst restaurant experience that i ever had in my whole life. Im putting one star because i cant put zero stars. Me and my two friends made a reservation for three on a Friday night. We get there as we are led by the hostess, she scans the ... room and there is only a table of four available. Her manager tells her to split the table in two tables of two. So we are given a table of two, for three people. We were in a weird corner, there was a huge concrete column on one side of the table. My friend was back to back to some guy on the other side. We had to move the table every time she wanted to go to the bathroom. The table next to us were two on the same table as us. So right off the bat we were squeezed in and it was really annoying and uncomfortable, especially since we made a reservation prior for THREE. when we told the servers they did not care at all. Then we ordered and the horror continued as there was plastic in the middle of my lasagna. Like a huge piece of cling wrap plastic. When i told the server he told me « it can happen. Because we cover the lasagna with cling wrap plastic and we heat it in the microwave. So maybe a piece stayed on. » but the plastic was not on top like he claimed it was inside (ill put up a pic). So he said he will bring me another one on the house. Mind you the whole time he seemed not impressed and he seemed like he didnt care much either. He then brought me a second piece in which one corner was burnt SOLID (ill add a pic). My fork was not going in. At this point i completely lost my appetite and was so disappointed. I just let it be. When he came to pick up my friends plates i told him « sorry if i didnt eat it, as you can see this whole side is completely burnt » he didnt even acknowledge my comment and left with the plates. My friends then paid (he did not made me pay) and he turned to me and said (for the first time) sorry about that. And left. The ambiance was nice at this restaurant, however the food was way below average. The pizza was overly greasy, when I picked up a slice everything slid off. The ingredients and taste of the food was nothing special for the price that you pay.

i don’t know what i was expecting from a 3.6 star ratings, looks like my friends and I weren’t the only one’s with an unsatisfied service, when i’m paying a good amount for a dining experience 36$ for a pizza, i would at least expect it to be warm, we ... had our pizza’s cold, the drinks were watered down, asked the waiter to remove extra utensils and cups off the table to have space ( not my job to mention it in the first place) we were ready to order and asked for his service “ i’ll be there shortly” came after 45 minutes to serve us, asked for a table of 10 had a table of 8, and when someone mentioned it’s their birthday, you should notify people that cake and balloons are not in your policy, and save us some time :) I can go on & on about this place, first and last time for sure! First experience at moretti! Friendly, pretty waitress! Nice and clean place. Good ambiance and not too crowded. Service was top notch. Greeted multi times! We order the meatballs and ceasar salad for entree! As most of the time you are expected the meatballs to be very boring however the meatsball were amazing ... and not heavy at all. Ceasar salad, i have to say i had better but this was great. As for main dish, we order the divoala pizza and the truffle pasta. Pizza is over burned a bit but i always love my pizza a bit over toasted however if you dont, you will have to advise them. Truffle creamy pasta was a hit. Moretti Salad was the best salad I’ve ever had. Pizza was excellent, the sauce was fresh and bright. Both pasta dishes were excellent. We found the background music a bit too loud for good conversation but that’s a matter of personal preference.
