I needed to bring myself out on a date and decided to treat myself at Impasto. 1. Great atmosphere and ambiance; amongst friends, date or solo. 2. Food cooked at the perfection. We had just a wonderful experience at this restaurant! We were in town for the solar eclipse and wandering through Little Italy in search of an Italian restaurant. We walked into Impasto and though they appeared completely full, they settled us at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Nicholas and Anthony were ... the staff members who assisted us all evening. They were very helpful with the wine and drink selection. We basically just let them pick our antipasto and dinner. Charles was the chef and he answered numerous questions through the meal. We started with the tuna and veal plate and then for entree we shared the mushroom parmesan ricotta gnocchi. We eat out a lot and I can honestly say it has been quite a while since I've had a meal that good. I have a feeling just about everything on their menu tastes this good. I wish I lived nearer! We were walking in the street and decided to try this place, it looked cozy from the outside. Seating area is good, a bit crowded and tables close to each other like every other restaurant in Montreal. Service was amazing, the staff really did their best. Food was delicious, ordered the chicken, ... and a kind of pasta. Both were great, I recommend also trying the Ricotta cheese with honey appetizer. I come here every time I'm in town! One of the staff members even recognized me from previous visits! I always get the gnocchi and its delicious! My friends and I are obsessed with the gnocchi from here. I definitely will be visiting again!

My partner and I opted for the 4-course meal priced at $90, and initially, I was a bit hesitant about the cost. However, we were very satisfied with our decision. The restaurant has a fantastic vibe, and the server was incredibly knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and accommodated my partner's ... preference for no raw meat.
