Dagwoods Sandwichs Et Salades - Montreal, Quebec

We normally like the Dagwood restaurants; however, the owner of this restaurant makes it a horrible experience... We call here to pick up their Roasted Tomato and Garlic Soup for my father-in-law, who is very ill and at a nursing home. He enjoys this soup very much. When we call to ... ask whether they have it at the restaurant before passing by to pick it up, the owner got very rude over the phone and asked that we come to the restaurant to see the soups they have and not waste his time. He then proceeds to hang up and disconnected the phone. He could have asked us to call back if they were busy. I guess the owner is having many bad days, because it has happened more than once... on one occasion when we eventually do go to the restaurant, he asks my wife whether she is the one that called, and when she responds “yes”, I kid you not his words were “take your soup and GET OUT”. I mean as a restaurant your job is to sell your food, right? Why be rude about it? The reason we call ahead is because my father-in-law is on a dietary restriction and we can't get him soup that he can't have. We will not be going to this location anymore, but if any of you are there, find out how the owner is doing. Maybe he is having a difficult time. Dagwooďs makes a great sandwich. The bread is fresher than a certain other chain and you can see them slicing the meats and cheeses in front of you, which adds to the taste. You get a deli style sandwich despite the franchise feel, and the service is fast. I eat ... regularly at the location near Concordia as well as the one in Alexis Nihon and both are excellent. I love dagwoods because they make it all fresh before your eyes. The service is great and the food is great. It's fresh fast food and the best sandwich shop that I frequent. Too bad there are no locations in the East of Montreal.

Had a lunch there and liked it. My number one criteria while searching a place to eat it's the cleanliness, after that is coming the quality of food and the price. I must admit, that this place met all of these criteria. PS: Want to say special thanks to the honest manager. When I first ... came, I had no idea about the prices. By mistake, the cashier had charged me for a big sandwich instead of small, which I have ordered. I paid with my plastic card.
