Good place to visit, go early to miss the crowds, you have a viewing point to get a photo of the beach and lean out but worth it. The car park is not very good with lots of pot holes.

I was in Downtown Zakynthos, at least 2-3 times a week. I was staying in Anafonitria up in the mountains, for 5 weeks. So a trip into town was almost a daily thing. I Love this Island!!!!

Private boat tour scheduled a few weeks before. Arrived Tues 08-Aug-23. Hotter than usual but once one boat we had cooler breeze. Bummer: once on boat the driver said Shipwreck Island was closed due to high winds and tides. So the coves and caves before Shipwreck Island were beautiful, we ... swam in the bluest water I’ve ever seen in my life. So clear we saw fish and rocks below - seemed so close I could’ve touched them. What seems 5 feet was more like 12 - 15 feet. Our boat driver Leo was fun and informative! Back on shore the taxi situation was tough due to Holiday travelers; we waited 47 mins. Just consider time if need to be back at cruise ship before cutoff. Read more
