Wasn’t my favorite. We were put in the back corner with very little ventilation. We ordered two of the veggie dishes, which both came with large amounts of whipped and airy cheese. I wish the waiter would have given us a heads up about the amount of cheese we were ... ordering. 😅 The shrimp was okay. The scallops were the star of the show. Huge plus: BYOB! Such a fun concept and perfect for a date night. Overall, I wouldn’t return. But I suggest it if you are looking for an experience. Read more
My partner and I come to this restaurant every single time we visit Montreal. The food has been amazing each and everytime we have visited and I'm so happy to see that continued consistency. O'thym changes it's menu seasonally and source local ingredients so you rarely have the same thing ... twice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is intimate and encourages quite conversation and allows you to also focus on the food and it's tastes and textures. I will continue to recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal. Read more
*warning (which we were not aware of): this is a BYOB place, you’ll have to bring your own wine if you want to drink some (but there is a SAQ opened late within 5min walking)* Proper bistronomie served on small sharing plates: the type of place where each dish is a ... surprise and a delight, centred around one simple ingredient, divinely prepared with spices, herbs, mousse and sauces in surprising combinations, making for original and delicious food (even to my mum who is usually not very adventurous!). Special mention to the incredible arctic char tartar with Shisho vinaigrette, and the pan fried scallop. We paid 200CAN for 2 (we shared 8 dishes as per the waiter’s recommendation) Read more
I truly enjoyed this little gem. The server was exceptional. He was very kind and receptive. Service took an appropriate amount of time. It was not slow, but I could tell the dishes were not made in a rush. The prices are adequate for an upscale restaurant given the quality ... of the ingredients. I really enjoyed the flavors of all the dishes. While the menus is seasonal, my favorite dishes were the gnudis and the bourgeois de baie-comeau. Both dishes were very cheese forward. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere overall and they made sure to arrange the restaurant smartly for valentine's day. A great way to enjoy seasonal and local ingredients! Read more
Great restaurant featureing local ingredients. They let you bring your own wine without a corkage fee so that helps keep it affordable. Food is excellent and a great value. We always visit when in Montreal.
