STAY AWAY!! When we were seated, we noticed the tablecloth had a big stain on it. This was the first sign that should have made us walk out, but we were hungry and stayed. This restaurant is not cheap, so we were surprised that our waitress served us water in plastic ... disposable cups! When she brought us a bread basket, it came with plastic packets of margarine (not butter) that when opened they just spilled everywhere because they were melted to liquid—which was odd because the bread was too cold to melt the margarine. So obviously the margarine was stored somewhere warm in the kitchen. It took a long time before the waitress took our orders, and it was about 40 minutes before our appetizers came out. We asked why it’s taking so long, and our server said it’s because it’s a busy night. The outdoor patio was almost full, and the dining room inside only had a few tables with customers. So that is no excuse as they are located in Montreal’s busiest tourist area, and they should have been used to this as they have been around since 1973. My salmon tartare came with dry stale bread, the salad was decent, the steak looked like a cheap cut of meat, and everyone’s meal was definitely not worth the price. When we asked for ketchup and mayonnaise, our server replied that they had run out! The table to the right of us sent some of their food back, and the table to the left sent one of their drinks back, while the table in front of us just got up and left. The customers who did stay occasionally shared glances of disbelief with one another. When my wife and daughters went to the toilet, they came back completely DISGUSTED! One toilet was blocked full with poop, and one sink was clogged with a pool of dirty water. There were no paper towels to dry their hands, and the electric hand dryer was out of order. As they sat back down at the table with their wet hands, we decided to leave before ordering dessert. I was unsuccessful in flagging down the waitress for my bill, so I got up to pay. And when our waitress went to reach for the wireless credit card machine, another waiter yelled at her saying that he needed it for his customer, and took it and stormed out, leaving our waitress noticeably embarrassed. I felt sorry for the servers as they were trying to put out fires all night, and taking heat from the customers for a very dysfunctional restaurant… if you can call it that. Read more
