Food is good, service is fast. I don’t mind the decor, it’s typical for a hole in the wall kind of Chinese restaurant. What’s making it hard for me to go back is the music. They play one song on repeat forever. The song never changes and it loops and ... loops. I even told the waitress but the second time I went, same scenario (different song but still loops). Decent Sunday evening dining experience. Homemade noodles were great, the smoked tofu & cucumber salad was ok, the steamed dumplings were a bit too thick yet ok, the skewed squid was meh... Quality price the food isn't bad but it's not as good as before. That's why I'm disappointed. A few years back, it was one of my go spot. The portions are generous, but the dumplings are my biggest disappointment. The skin of the dumplings were too thick and the meat had ... no flavor. I ordered from this restaurant since I was with friends and we wanted to eat dumplings. We ordered 4 types of dumplings. They gave us a good recommendation of which one should be fried and which one should be steamed. It was pretty on point. Also, for the price payed, it was ... pretty good quality and quantity. I had come here in order to try a different dumpling place than my usual one in downtown Montreal. I was a but disappointed with the food I got. The variety of dumpling choices is nice in my opinion and the roasted sesame oil that is provided for dipping was a ... nice chnage from regular dumpling restaurants. However, even though the menu mentions steamed dumplings, they look and feel more like boiled ones (there is a difference). I had ordered the pork, cabbage and shrimp dumplings and they were good, but the wrapper was too thick and not much broth was inside the dumpling. I also tried the beef fried rice, but the fried was more implying stirfry instead of typical fried rice. It wasn't bad though. Overall, not a bad place but there are better dumpling places around.
