The staff was rude and some patisseries are tasteless

The hot buns are not even hot! The staff is not very friendly and you can find cheaper buns elsewhere.

Frankly, this place is unprofessional. Both customer service and product were poor. When we called to order a cake, the person who answered was rude and didn't even master basic English, nor could she speak Cantonese (one of the two major languages spoken in Chinatown). She seemed very pressed ... to end the call, kept interrupting us mid-sentence and hung up on us. She couldn't be bothered with a courtesy call to let us know the cake was done. The person gave us few choices and the end result was nothing like a black forest cake. First off, the most of the fruits were canned.They used tasteless jello instead of cherries. The fruit was carelessly and unevenly covered in sweet gelatin. The chocolate shavings didn't seem fresh, and frankly, the decorations could have been done by an amateur. But most of all, the cake wasn't even the deep. dark color that is typical of a "black" forest cake. It was brown-orange and did not taste like chocolate in the slightest. Always go to this place. First, they use butter (other bakeries on Gauchetière often use shortening), then the desserts are delicious. Try the "blueberry" cake and the roundish cake. The birthday cakes are a-ma-zing...!
