We stopped in after reading the reviews on Google. We had the curry chicken platter and the vegetarian platter (potatoes, chickpeas, and pumpkin). Everything was spiced to perfection, the homemade hot sauce tasted great mixed into the rice. We both enjoyed our meals and loved the plaintains as a sweet ... ending. I dropped by Jean's in summer 2020 when we could sit in during the pandemic. The first item I ordered was the goat plate. It contained curried goat and potatoes, plantains, and rice. The lady also asked if I wanted hot sauce, which helped with the seasoning (a little bland). The ... goat was tender, but I didn’t get enough for the portion I paid for. Though the plantains were crispy and fried well. The second item I got was a mauby drink. The lady explained that it’s made from tree bark and sweetened. It was quite refreshing and a little bitter. I love Jean's!! Everything homemade, lovely people, I'm always happy when I go there :) the meat is super tender, the bones are juicy, the sauces are flavourful. Lucky it's in my neighbourhood.

I don't know how qualified I am to say this.. but their meal menu was an absolute bomb. It was the best one among all the Caribbean resto i ve been. I had the stew chicken. The interior was a bit dark but it felt homey.

Fantastic roti and very friendly owner. I have worked at a Trinidadian restaurant in the past and I can vouch for the quality of the food. Best to call ahead for reservations as food is prepared by need. I had the goat roti, whole wheat roti bread ... and topped it off with tamarind chutney and hot sauce.
