Hotel Le Nouvel Hôtel & Spa - Montreal, Quebec

Although the hotel served it's purpose, the room itself was lacking amenities and felt very much out of date. For example, the room was booked for 4 adults, but there was only one coffee cup and two drinking glasses provided. There was also only two robes. There was no alarm ... clock in the room, and there were no hooks for the bathroom towels in order to keep them separate after showering (we had to hang them over our suitcases to dry). The beds also only had one pillow per person and did not have fitted sheets. There are also improvements/maintenance issues that should be done to the room. For example, the air conditioning was either full blast (and freezing cold) or had to be turned off. The lock on the bathroom door did not line up with the latch and therefore often had to be left unlocked and the door itself looked like it may fall off the track on the wall very soon. The remote for the TV also needed batteries, and the fridge did not keep our food and drinks cold. The most disappointing part was that there was no information on the website/in our booking that the pool was not yet open for the season. We were staying in the month of June with 30 degree and sunny weather every day. We were extremely disappointed to learn that the pool was closed on our arrival, as this was one of the reasons we booked it. All in all, our expectations of the hotel were not met, but we were just glad we had a place to stay given it was a very busy week in Montreal. I recently stayed at Le Nouvel Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making my stay very pleasant. The room was very clean and neat, which I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is excellent, situated in a great area with easy access to many ... attractions. We booked with this hotel because my mom was having surgery at the Montreal General Hospital. On day 3 of our 4 day expected trip, we found out we could head home early. The staff, especially Luis, was amazing in helping us check out before 12. They were so kind ... and understanding with our situation, and did not charge us for the additional night. Thank you! When life throws you challenges, it’s nice to meet people who help make the challenge easier. If this exceptional customer service has not swayed you, hopefully the rest of this review will. The rooms were modern, clean, and very well taken care of. The restaurant connected to the hotel, has delicious dishes. My dad is extremely particular with food and enjoyed the spaghetti and meat balls. I had their pizza (cheese and pepperoni), they must use a pizza stone or oven, because it was beyond what I expected. It was delicious! The meals also came with a beverage (wine, beer or soda) and a salad . Honestly, it’s worth the price. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this hotel. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with. The room was clean and modern, the beds were comfortable and the shower felt luxurious, having a glass door and multiple showerheads. It's a short walk to the Bell Centre and just south of a variety ... of Asian restaurants. It's on the quieter, western edge of downtown while still being close enough to the hustle bustle.
