Only went for cocktails so cannot speak to the whole experience but ambiance was great. Historical building inside and beautiful, modern patio outside. Great spot for people watching. My drink was ok, nothing extraordinary but definitely was a cool spot. Service was great.

Went there for brunch , the place is beautiful, it must be amazing to have a drink there near the bar. Our waiter was nice and friendly. We tried the burger, salmon and the lobster omelette. The omelette was definitely the best choice. The texture of the omelette and the ... lobster were amazing. I would probably go back for the omelette again. Far and away the prettiest restaurant I've visited in Montreal! The interior looked so classy and exquisite it was like dining in a palace. We ordered the famous beef wellington and were not disappointed. It was my first time eating this dish so I don't have any points of reference, but ... it was just perfect. Presentation, taste and technique had been nailed to a T. The puff pastry was baked so well you could taste the layers of it in your mouth. The tenderloin beef was immaculate - medium rare as I asked for. The minced mushrooms were absolutely divine and the sides and gravy were also perfect. There's nothing else I would change about this dish! I also ordered the pear dessert and it was great. The vanilla ice cream could could have been something more interesting, like a sorbet, but I guess they wanted to balance the fruity flavours. It was still very tasty. Cannot say enough good things about Bar George. The atmosphere is funky but classy, the service is prompt and warm, and the food is scrumptious. My husband and I came here for an early Valentine’s Day dinner when we stayed at Le Mount Stephen hotel. The wallpaper is fun and there ... are dozens of artwork strewn about the wall that makes the environment interesting. We had lovely servers. I had asked what wine might go well with my meal, and the server listed a few and then when I gave my preferences, he let me try two to see which I liked best. Keep in mind, this was just for a glass of wine not even a bottle! It made me feel cared for. We got the mushroom soup, the beet salad, the beef Wellington, and the truffle gnocchi. There was not a bad bite. The flavors went deep and were well balanced. I could’ve melted into the gnocchi, it was that good. Highly recommend! Read more
