Dundees Deli & Bar - Montreal, Quebec

Very bad. Don’t eat here unless you just want drinks and nachos. Souvlaki was terrible and dry. Rice was just awful. Minestrone soup was very good though and so was the salmon.

My Mother and I went for dinner on Sunday night at Dundees Deli and Bar at the Boardwalk in St Anne de Bellevue, and I was visiting from out of town. We ordered the Grilled Salmon. We also ordered the beef Barley Soup. When the Soup arrived we were very ... disappointed to find that there was no barley in it and it was overly Salty. We then waited a long time for our main course. When our Salmon dinner arrived it did not look at all what a $19 dinner should look like. We had ordered Roasted potatoes and there was rice on both of our plates. The explanation from the waitress was that there were only fries left even though roasted potatoes were a choice. The rice was bland and cold and tasted liked it was from a can. The vegetables were crispy and burnt and so few of them. The salmon was presented on the plate with the skin on the top and had no dressing or sauce on it and did not taste good at all and did not seem properly cooked, this was unacceptable. The waitress realized how disappointed we were and offered to give us complimentary coffee which came across as a very unacceptable gesture. We had to ask if we ordered desserts could they be offered complimentary under the circumstances. The waitress agreed and we chose the Key lime pie and Apple crumble. She left our table only to return to say that the key lime pie was frozen and all that was left was one piece of strawberry cheesecake and apple crumble. It wasn't an apple crumble just a slice of pie with hard apple slices and the cheese cake was average. At this point the meal was a disaster and we we will never return. No where near worth the $54 we paid for this meal and the service was not good at all and we had to wait too long for plates to be cleared. The worst service I've EVER seen! We tried to eat there once. The key word is "tried" as we never succeed. I took us just 10 min to get a many and then 20 more minutes we were just watching 6 waiters passing by us and NONE of them ever bothered ... to ask if we were ready to order. The resto was not full. We had to leave and I explained to the host why. She just told: "Oh I'm sorry, have a nice day!" What? She didn't even move to try to fix the issue. Plus then I addressed the issue to the management via sending an email and I never heard back from anyone. That is the WORST service I ever seen! Read more

Worst service ever! The hostess sat us down fairly quickly for a busy afternoon and that was the extent of the good service. The waiter comes around 15 min after we sit down to take drink orders. Then comes back and took only my friend's food order, didn't even look ... at me! I ask the hostess to send him back and 17 min later, he still hadn't returned to take my order! I politely went and complained. He comes over 5 min later and says, "Oh, you'd like to order something Now?" as if I said no before... They didn't even comp our drinks or anything, just a comment about speaking with the owner... Definitely wouldn't go back! Read more

What a disaster. After promising us a table in "27" seconds that was the last part of their service that met our expectations. After waiting a longer than average time to get menus we finally placed our order. The only food that ever arrived were soups for 2 ... members of our party of 5. Even that took a long time. Our waiter passed our table at least 10 times without giving us an update on our food. He picked up the soup bowls without saying a single word. We noticed we were now in the restaurant for over 45 minutes and we still had no meals. The waiter continued to pass our table with still no update. We even approached who we thought was the manager and still got no update on our food. As we inched closer to an hour we just got up and left. Easy to say this was the absolute worst service I have EVER experienced at a restaurant. Avoid this place if you are hungry! 0 stars if I had the option! Read more
