Ciné Express - Montreal, Quebec

Terrible experience!!!! I had been to cine express back in about 2005 and had a decent experience the place was way more vibrant and service and food were up to par. Fast forward to 2014, the place looks so run down, it was empty and there was one young Asian ... girl who was serving us. She was pleasant but not very attentive at all. So my friend and I ordered just the very basic nachos with salsa. She came back to the table with a large amount of tortilla chips and such a small amount of salsa!! I mean I'm not exaggerating at all. It was only enough for about 10 chips (there were quite a lot of chips in that basket) and that's by rationing it. I wanted to ask for more salsa but didn't thinking that she would probably tell me it would cost more. So, I decided after receiving such poor service that it was not worth my tip (and I Always tip!!) I got up and made my way to the back of the place to pay my bill since she didn't seem to be coming our way at all. As I entered my pin and waited for the receipt, she just looked at me and said with such attitude in her voice "the tip is not included you know"... Well that really threw me off. I'll never step foot in that dump again! I don't know if the place changed ownership since 10 years ago but it has gone down big time!! A message to cine express: Tell that young Asian girl to have some god damn manners and learn some customer service skills. I am so offended and taken back by such a comment. It is my choice to tip or not and I do so even for mediocre service, but this was just a disgrace! Stay away from this place unless you are broke and cant afford anything else... Read more

Our favourite place in Montreal. Cheap, delicious. It seems to have a hard time choosing an identity as a bar, but the combo of cafe/sports bar/lounge/Asian fusion restaurant really is something special.

The quesadilla was cold, it looked like it was warmed up not even cooked fresh, the girl forgot my beer and gave it to me at the end when we were leaving, the waitress was very persuasive try to get us to buy other things. Unless you're going there to ... hang out before a club that's what it's for. The place isn't made to eat supper, it's like a lounge with low tables, you go there for a drink. We ordered nachos and got chips with dip.. it's cheap at least. Read more

Small and cozy place. The staff is friendly. Perfect place if you want a casual lunch/dinner.

Simpathetic. The Greek potato poutine was worth a try.
