Madisons NY Bar & Grill - Montreal, Quebec

Excellent place right in the middle of downtown Montreal. It's across from the street from the Bell Centre so the place is pretty busy when the Canadiens are playing. The food is very good, the service is friendly. Highly recommended.

I've been here a couple of times and I always get the ribs and I've never been disappointed. The price is right at 30$ and the drinks are decently priced too, and they always had a seat for us quickly even without a reservation. The salmon tasted a bit bland and dry. However, the service was courteous. Their burgers were tasty. The chicken fingers were pretty good too. Don't go for the mac and cheese.

My husband and I went to Madison's before the Bill Burr show last night with another couple. We were seated quickly and overall the speed of the service was fine given that it's the night of a show. Our waitress was nice as well as the rest of the staff. My ... complaint is my meal. I ordered grilled salmon, which came my choice of two side orders (vegetables and my choice of potato). I don't like potatoes so I asked if I could have more vegetables instead. The salmon was fine ... but it was on a bed of edamame? Edamame isn't a vegetable. Usually "vegetables" means steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, maybe asparagus depending on the place). Then when I asked where my "extra" vegetables were, they brought out another bowl of - you guessed it - edamame. We started to say something to the manager but we were already running late. It's just such an odd side dish that's supposed to represent "vegetables". I go to restaurants a lot and I've never had this issue. Another issue is that my husband was served his vodka/soda in a tall glass instead of a regular glass. I understand they ran out of glasses but they basically watered down his drink. Very good steakhouse. Service is professional. Food is tasty. You can get steaks but also sea dishes. I do recommend the place for a formal lunch or supper. I had a bavette with a classic potato
