Else’s - Montreal, Quebec

This is my first visit here. Early summer travel from Ottawa. At first glance at the menu I did not see the typical, appetizer, salad, soup, entree dinner menu selection one would normally expect. At first I was, ok, so I ordered the dumplings, wings and ribs to share ... with my wife. Catherine was on the ball for service. The food was amazing, I shared some food with my 4 friends at the table because I wanted to them to try it. The wings were served with an arugula noodle salad and it was delicious, ribs with a creamy double baked potato and the dumplings with 2 dipping sauces and charred just right on the edges. The whole table was impressed with all of their meals. We want to make a shout out to Sam and Josh who were the cooks working tonight's shift. The service in this place is terrible. My server just dropped the plate, took my empty dish and gave me the bill. The owner should replace the service team with robots. He will save money. I left 0 tip for the 1st time in my life. What a horror! Impersonal ... and inconsiderate. Food : Bland. Tasteless and horrible vegan taco. No seasoning on the soy mince but tonnes of grease. The avocado sauce was sprinkled to tease me l guess in a tiny sliver - still no taste. The hot sauce was like vinegar water with a little kick. I thought that would salvage my insipid meal but alas,it didn't. The salad barely had any of its boring dressing. For ambiance: 5/5! But with such horrible food and even more disturbing service, l' d rather eat at home or go elsewhere! Waste of time and money and good spirits which l came with. Tucked away in a typical plateau neighborhood is one of my favourite bars in Montreal. The selection of beer is great and the food has gotten a lot better recently, but sometimes the service can be neglectful.

Hands down my favourite bar in the plateau. I haven’t eaten much of their food but what I’ve had has been delicious! I love the vibe in here. I will always suggest this bar. It’s my plan A and my plan B. It can get pretty busy towards the weekend, but if ... you’re willing to wait a few you can usually get a table. The staff here are very good with that. Read more

So, well, what can I say, food? I didn’t really like it, I liked it only the wings, I also took the Chili soup. And tacos tacos are more or less chilli soup disgusting.
