Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and the interiour was cute, very lowkey modern contemporary vibes you would expect from a bougee wannabe restaurant in downtown Montreal. Of course knowing all of that, you would also know that the food and drinks are average at best and overpriced. My ... friends and I just complained to eachother about the lack of meat in our non-vegeterian meals despite the difference in price. Anyway, I got what I expected and I'm pretty tired of these businesses still being able do businesses because they want to exploit the restaurant "experience". Screw that, we all deserve better than this. A group of us had a reservation for dinner at Kampai. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. However, the food and cocktails were very expensive for what you actually got. The food could be described as a Quebec version of Korean food. We had ... ordered our food and drinks, and before we even got our food we were told it was last call and to order dessert if we wanted any because the kitchen was closing. It took about 2-3 hours for us to finally get our meals. The food wasn’t very good, and one member of our party had his food order wrong twice. Another member of our party got her food significantly later than everyone else. The food looked nice, however the taste and the wait weren’t worth the price. Read more

Been here years ago before they reopen and had a great time. But 0 stars if i can after they reopen! I know it’s too late to review but I and my friend paid the ticket for NYE and one of the guards didn’t let us in when we literally arrived ... before 1am and they didn’t say anything about not letting people in for arriving late. On NYE SERIOUSLY KAMPAI?? They should have at least given us refunds! Seems like it’s not their first time ´cause there was also review about it. Read more

Nice place but a bit overpriced. The food is average and the portions are too small. Cocktails were good and service was friendly. After certain time the restaurant turns out to a club.
