Nouveau Palais - Montreal, Quebec

If Berghain and Wendy’s had a baby the outcome would be Nouveau Palais. Woof! Danke in all the best ways. Burgers + Mac & cheese all the way. Great drinks ranging from beers to martinis. As most of Montreal’s food scene - a must visit 👌🏻

I was very surprised the quality of the food from this neighborhood restaurant. They don't have a very big menu but there foods were all homemade. And everything that we ordered were very delicious and on point. There oysters were super fresh and they shucked very well. There homemade Ceasar salad ... was very delicious too. Not to mention, the mussels and fries are good too. The cocktails were very good (nothing very special but the prices were very reasonable). We did have a very good time in this restaurant. The only thing that I have to point out is there decorations, there isn't much "ambiance" and it does need a good renovation. I highly recommend this place if you want something not too expensive or fancy but with a good food menu. Read more

Common folk need not pay a kings ransom for this regal cuisine. A grandiose, succulent, exquisitely cooked beef patty provides consistently superior mouthfuls bite after bite. Majestic as the sauce is; it does not rule outright. Instead sharing power with an equally noble array of seasoning and sumptuous toppings. Nouveau Palais’ comfort food is nothing close to comforting. This place has everything you may be looking for as in: cool vibe, hip decor, and late hours; yet in a weird unsettling way the food and drinks are simply under par. The Burger might save itself, but not at ... that price tag. In addition, drinks are serves in miniature glasses, worthy of an elementary school cafeteria. Read more

I really like their burger! Beef is well-cooked and juicy, and bread is perfectly toasted. The salad is well seasoned too (cuz I don’t eat fries so I changed it to salad). The only pity is that Mac n cheese didn’t reach my expectation (or maybe I set it too high). ... Well...it tasted pretty good, but I think it could be warmer. The dining environment is pretty dark and they don’t have much lights, but it’s not a big deal. The staff is very kind and friendly. Overall, it’s a good choice to have a yum and comfortable meal with friends. They also have many alcohol options, from cidre, bottled beer to strong liquids. Read more
