Horrible place, food has awfully small quantities and over-priced. I respect cooking but this chef has gotten it wrong. I had lamb chop and it was hardly 4-5 bites of meat on it. I can eat like 5-7 of those lamb chops for my main course. They have average size table on ... the patio but their dinnerware sizes (plates) are huge, you cant fit everything on the table. They recently changed their menu, I must say - FANTASTIC. Prices are very reasonable, they kept all the delicious plates they offered and added few new things that really complete the menu. The service from the barman is unbeatable, he referred our group great places to go check out, and suggested ... fantastic cocktails that everyone enjoyed. Highly recommend to go on a Friday for a classy and relaxed atmosphere, and Saturdays for your more festive/social events! Read more

Not sure if it was only that night and/or only that specific bartender but she definitely made us leave pretty quick last Saturday. My friends never even got to order a drink after they saw the way I was treated. Unwelcome that is! Also, for some reason, I was told that ... place only accepts cash (?? Revenu QC ) at the entrance and then saw people successfully using cards inside. Just confusing overall experience and not recommended. Too bad because we liked the DJ. The restaurant looks the part but the food was poor and the service was off. Meatballs were dry and overcooked. My fish was bland and uninteresting. The waiter wouldn't leave us to figure out the check and tip. Felt rushed out the door even though the ... place was 3/4 empty. Read more

Pink flamingo is in a very touristy area in old town Montreal. Our server told us it had been a different restaurant under a different name for a long time but it closed, was remodeled and then reopened again about one month ago under this new name. At ... first we were a bit concerned about going to a restaurant in a tourist area...but we were so hungry that we decided to give it a try. The menu looked good, the wine list ok and the prices reasonable? Walking thru to the patio we noticed a bordello like ambiance ... Alarm bells were ringing, but we stayed the course. We started with a red sangria....which was too sweet but full of fruit. The crock was more than enough for two to three drinks a piece. Then we ordered both the beet salad and a cheese platter. When the cheese platter was delivered the server could not tell us the cheeses...huh? We eventually learned that they were all local/Quebec cheeses and they were quite good. unfortunately our entrees were delivered before we were finished with the salad course....a big minus in my book. Pace yourself, flamingo...why rush us through dinner? We then ordered a rose wine from France. It was good and again pretty reasonably priced. Then a musical/dance group started performing in the square just opposite the restaurant. They were obnoxiously loud and AWFUL. We asked the staff if they had any noise control and they said no. We couldn't even talk above the horrible violin music. On to the entrees...My husband had the lamb and I had the pork chop with kumquats. Both were excellent. Neither entree came with a side and bread was not offered (although there was bread with the cheese plate). If you are hungry you might want to order a side dish. When I was finished eating the pork I told our waitress that it was quite good. she seemed genuinely surprised. I'm still a bit confused by her reaction. So, I would rate them a two and a half. The food was great and they'd put some thought into the menu. The beet salad was both delicious and beautiful (having edible flowers in it). The prices were reasonable (higher than I would like but what you'd expect in a tourist trap) and the location was convent for tourists. What they lack is good, knowledgeable servers who understand the menu and how to pace a meal. They should also implore the local authorities to control the decibel of the music in the square.
