First time in my life I’ve changed my mind about going somewhere just from a phone conversation with the establishment. I’m seeing a bunch of comments mentioning the rude owner and it must all be true just based on the conversation I had with him. He is unprofessional to a ... point of incredulity. A good restaurant should be able to accommodate walk-ins during their open hours unless they are at capacity. But I like to sometimes play it safe and call a restaurant to give them heads up we are coming. I’m glad I had this thought this time to save the trip entirely. The owner explained that the restaurant was reservation only – not that this is mentioned anywhere else. When I mentioned that it would be two of us, the owner explained to me that they can’t stay open for just 2 people. He already sent the server home and they aren’t going to just serve 2 people, that wasn’t enough. He told me we should order takeout from them. However mid-convo, he seemed to change his mind. He then explained to me that I should call the restaurant before I go and let them know what we are going to order. Has this guy ever been to another restaurant before?!? Since when is this a normal process for going to a restaurant? His tone got ruder with me as the call went on as well which I certainly did not appreciate. Liked the dish, not sure if it was fresh as the chef was absent that day. I had the tiebou diene. The sauce was too salty but it was ok. Enjoyed the ginger juice. Manny things weren't available that day. If I go again I'll edit this review. The place ... was calm. The waiter was kind. Read more

Friend got a dibi and I got a tiebou yapp, the dibi was really good! I like the ambiance of the restaurant, it was nicely decorated with a light mood, the plates and all were well combined together, and the food was excellent! Tiebou yapp was a really soft and ... well marinated lamb leg, and dibi was harder well spiced and smoked grilled lamb chunks. I really wanted to try this restaurant out based on the good reviews saying how tasteful & authentic it was, and only got a chance after a few weeks of anticipating: and I was not let down for sure! Authentic thieboudjienne with Senegalese hot sauce. Friendly staff and good food in a nice environment. If you want real Senegalese food, you should definitely check this place out and if you like spicy foods, be sure to ask for the pepper sauce.
