The food is excellent. Not over seasoned or over sauced like other Mexican places tend to do. Just simple authentic dishes. There was not a lot of options but what they do, they do well. The server was very friendly and helpful and the prices are too good. They offer ... an all you can eat on the weekend and 2 for 1 tacos on Tuesday. Went for the all you can eat tacos yesterday. Portion size were great. I would definitely recommend the beef and chicken tacos. Each taco comes with 2 tortillas which I made the mistake of eating the taco with the 2 tortillas. It just made it super dry. However if I ... did split the meat into the tortillas to make 2 tacos it would have definitely been a lot better. The tortilla chips plus the salsas definitely elevated my whole experience. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the perfect place. Even though, this restaurant is small, I find it charming, clean and decently decorated. This spot has some great options in its menu, such as tacos (pastor, tongue, chicken and beef all prepared Mexican style ) , ... tortas, enchiladas (cheese wrap tortillas with red sauce), Milanesa (breaded beef filet) among other limited but delicious selections. You can find typical fresh drinks such as orchata (rice, cinnamon, milk based) or tamarindo. In addition, they make two types of tasty sauces; hot (red one) and mild (green one). In Mexico we call this type of restaurants "cenadurias" (in English dinners) a very typical joint with tasty homemade style food. Service in general is good, people are friendly and attentive, however, due to the type of food that is served, waiting time can be long. In terms of price, it is a spot for a moderate $$$ type of budgets. Definitely a place to visit for those that like authentic Mexican flavours and for those curious ones that want to explore it. I would give it less stars if I could. Our experience took almost 2 hours with only half of the tables' drink orders coming 40 minutes in. The A/C was broken but the one server they had kept the door, the only source of fresh air, closed. Half priced tacos ... only applied to the pork taco, which consisted of 1/3 cubes of fat. After an hour some food arrived with the remaining showing up in 10 minute increments. The food lacked flavour and required more salsa than necessary. One of the people at our table received half of the tacos ordered but there was an attempt to charge him for all of them. Another person ordered a vegetarian dish but it came with a portion of chicken. To add to the time, heat, and sub-par food, we were treated to a screening of Hannibal complete with the disembowled body and frying brain! All of this coupled with the awful day after means I will not be visiting again. Also, if 5 flavours of Jarritos are on the menu they should probably have some! Read more
