Ozen Sushi - London, Ontario

Great little spot! Went here after a show at the music hall. We made an excellent choice, Ozen is fantastic in every way!! What really got me was how affordable the food was for being in the heart of downtown. We got drinks, lots of sushi and udon noodles for ... $100. Can't beat that. The food was absolutely amazing as well. I really don't like rolls with cream cheese anywhere else, but I would order their Philadelphia roll 1,000 times over. The spicy mayo is actually decently spicy too, which is always an extremely welcome surprise, seeing as it usually isn't at most places. First time going here and was not disappointed. Everything was extremely fresh, especially the avocado in the rolls. Tried the salmon sushi pizza and it was amazing. Even ordered a second round of it. Server was great. No complaints at all and will definitely be back.

Ozen Sushi is a go-to sushi spot in London for my roommates and I. Despite being a weekday, it was nearly full, but the two-floor setup is convenient for accommodating more diners. Service was efficient and friendly. We ordered the Osaka set, vegetable okonomiyaki, and a selection of other rolls and ... nigiri. The filling-to-rice ratio here is exceptional, and they don’t skimp on the fish—it’s cut thickly, offering great value. The okonomiyaki was surprisingly filling and larger than expected. It was my first time going here, I’ve been to ozen Korea before though. The food was good, for sure get the katsu combo because it comes with so much food for the price! You get the meat, rice, salad, miso soup, 3 yam sushi, and 2 dumplings! It’s about ... the same price as the poke bowl, which was pretty good as well. Most meals came with soup and salad. The sushi was pretty good, not amazing but for the price it’s good. The noodle soup was good as well almost better than the ozen Korea noodle soups. The staff were nice, but I felt slightly judged sometimes. The area is small (not sure if there was more room upstairs) so it’s better for smaller groups of 2-4 people. Read more

My life goal is to find the best restaurants in all cuisines, and OZEN SUSHI is yet another sushi bar. So that is where I went. Looking for something interesting and original, I got the Rocket #1 and Rocket #2. #1 comprised spicy salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. “Torched” salmon and ... sweet onion sat on top. #2 had cucumber, avocado, crab meat, “torched” albacore tuna, and garlic flakes. A bowl of tonkotsu ramen came after. Even though this is mainly a sushi place, the ramen turned out to be best of the three. I got spicy and it was totally the right choice. This kind of ramen is made from pork bone broth. Along with the noodles came two pieces of pork belly, sliced shiitake mushrooms, a soft boiled egg, bean sprouts, and green onions. The inside was wooden and had a cozy feel, like a log cabin or sauna. There is also well-furnished compartment upstairs. The bill was $50.29. OZEN SUSHI now belongs to the list of my favourite sushi restaurants. They have earned their place in the upper echelons of London takeout and fine dining. Read more
