Swiss Chalet - Edmonton, Alberta

I drove up from Southern Interior of BC to visit family decided to eat at Swiss Chalet last Saturday evening around 6 since Swiss Chalet left BC a few years ago. We pulled in and realized this was a combo Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet but rather leave we decided to order ... and sit down and wait for our order. Half of the tables were closed so found a somewhat clean table. We ordered quarter chicken meal, I ordered the white meat option and my wife had the regular. Our order arrived and the fries were cold and soggy and the chicken was not very warm. We were both very disappointed and left not very happy. Sunday morning my wife woke up very sick and not well. We had come up to visit our grandkids and my wife was so sick she could not go to her granddaughters 8th birthday party. Sunday evening I became sick as well and Monday we could not leave our hotel room. Because we drove up and we were to drive back on Monday I was forced to spend another night we had not booked and had phone our employers taking another night off. Yesterday I felt slightly better and drove the 1028 km back to BC We were totally disappointed with this place and we definitely will never visit Swiss Chalet ever again. Thanks to Swiss Chalet for ruining our last two days of our vacation. I did what you wanted and got in touch with your feedback firm 5 days ago and have yet to hear back from your corporate office zendesk and it seems they are not interested in dealing with this matter and I see there are others who have had the same problem with bad food. Had the chicken& ribs. It was OK nothing special. It seemed a little expensive, but everything is now a days. The guy taking orders was impressive, seemed to bring up the moral and came to the tables to ask about the food, better then some sit down resteraunt. First time ... seeing it at a fast food. We typically order from, or go to the St. Albert location. But my husband picked up from this location for dinner tonight. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The skin on the chicken was barely browned and the fries were almost raw. We also ... ordered the perogies and they were salted very heavily with course salt. We couldn't finish our meals. If you are deciding between this location & StAlbert, definitely head to St. Albert. Read more

I ordered online for pick up. When I arrived at the restaurant, they advised they did not have what I ordered, the garlic loaf. The manager was very polite about it and I opted for a salad. I arrived on time, however, I still had to wait about an extra ... 10 minutes. The chicken was satisfactory but the fries were almost raw. For the price, I likely will not be back. Read more

I placed an order today for pickup and checked out as a guest after ordering online. I inadvertently placed the order for immediate pickup as opposed to later on in the evening. When I tried to phone to let the restaurant know, I called the restaurant directly at first… no ... answer. So I called the take out number instead, where at first they told me they couldn’t find my order. Then transferred my call to the restaurant. Again, no answer. So I call back, and explained the situation again, to which I was told that the best they could do was transfer me to a customer service representative. When I questioned the call taker about why she wasn’t a customer service rep, I was hung up on… Super frustrating. Now I know why I never eat at Swiss chalet. I realize the mistake was initially mine, but the fact that I got zero help to correct it is baffling. I hope the staff had a nice half chicken lunch. Read more
