Great food, but closed now?? Went by at 8:30 Thursday December 7th. Closed, with no note or reason why. Guess I’m driving to Gateway for chicken. Their chicken is fantastic. Very crispy and flavourful. I love the fried fritters as well. Fries are always soggy, but thats why you crisp ... them up in the oven when you get home :) A good value for what you get. The trucks are retired but this Edmonton institution is back. Clean place, reasonable prices and decent portions. Chicken was moist, liked the batter but it was on the salty side.

Very good and juicy chicken. Salt was spot on. A bit more and it's too salty. Very delectable.

The chicken was cooked really nicely everything was very juicy including the white meat. The flavor wasn't too bad a little milder than most chicken places which isn't really a bad thing. The texture of the coating is what really got me thou, really different really good! Fritters were a ... little more on the doughy side for my taste and the coleslaw could have had a little more seasoning. Fresh cut fries are nice but they do get soggy pretty fast. I lived in Calgary for years and this place really is the Pride of Calgary. With local Albertan chickens and a family owned and operated business for more than 50 years it's really hard to go wrong. This location is really clean and the chicken has just the right amount ... of crisp. The corn fritters dipped in their gravy is the perfect greasy treat you sometimes crave. Potatoes are hand cut in the restaurant and the fries always turn out just crispy enough. This place rules. And the quality is on par with that of their Classic Calgary locations. Low wait times and friendly service. I am so happy they finally reopened a location in Edmonton because I would be lying if I told you I haven't driven to Calgary just for the chicken! Lol! Read more
