Delicious Pho - Edmonton, Alberta

Given how solid the YEG Vietnamese food scene is, I left shocked how embarrassingly bad our lunch was here. The “Beef Pho Satay” was weak, flavourless and poorly made. The razor thin strips of beef were akin to small patches of overcooked leather. I ate the noodles - ... and left the broth and beef mostly untouched. Which is a rarity - as I typically leave no trace of pho satay given it’s one of my fav dishes. We also ordered iced coffees - HOW DO YOU MESS THIS UP? Both were undrinkable and didn’t filter properly - even after waiting 35 min for them to drip- and the staff, who avoided us our entire stay, could only offer more ice and were not interested in owning up to their abysmal effort to host us. Came here for the first time. Was greeted as soon as we came through the door. We got seated and had tea brought to us. Food came out hot and was delicious! I ordered the 5 color vermicelli. The meal I had (BBQ pork and spring rolls on vermacelli) was very tasty, quick friendly service. They get a 5 star but they could have easily gotten a lower rating as they were closed when I got there, they re-opened their doors because a large group showed up. I ... showed up at 5pm and online it says they close at 7pm. After reading additional reviews it looks like this may be an ongoing issue, and a lot of their bad reviews are due to this. Read more

Clean restaurant with a nice modern atmosphere. I expected to get a small bowl for how much I paid (regular size) because of the location, but I got a huge bowl instead. The pho was hearty and delicious. The broth didn’t have strong beefiness (like most viet restaurants here) and the ... brisket could have been more tender, but overall a very solid bowl of pho. Great Vietnamese restaurant. I’m sure the pho is good but I did not have the pho. I had a vermicelli bowl and it was very good and tasty. The location is convenient and the restaurant is clean and well lit. The washroom is clean also. I ... would recommend coming here for lunch as the staff is friendly and courteous.
