Been here numerous times. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, bands are great and the dueling pianos are friendly and fun. Love the wine nights they have always have a great time and enjoy trying new wines for a reasonable price. Looking forward going here again

We attended The Bourbon Room on Fri Mar 6,2020 to support Cops Crushing Cancer fundraiser. This is our first time here and was a bit unsure what to expect after reading the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised! Our waitress Brandi (as stated on our bill) gave us pretty great service considering ... we were at the very back of the room and she got stopped a million times trying to get back to us. We had ham and pineapple pizza, sliders and a type of spring roll with shrimp and basil in it. At first, I thought the $14 or $15 dollar price for sliders was crazy ridiculous! However, there wasn't just 3 sliders, there were 6 and they were NOT all bun either! Well worth the money as they were super tasty and meaty. The pizza was good too. What I will call spring rolls again at $10 seemed a bit pricey, however, they were delicious and the portion fit the price of $10. So we were pleasantly surprised with the food. The live band called "Code One", was playing that night. They played great classic rock from around the 80's that we all enjoyed, we even had fun on the dance floor. The only complaints I have is the food took a while to come out, but honestly, that is a really minor concern. I mention it so if you decide to go and order food, you may want to do so sooner than later. I will mention we were there around 6 pm on Fri night, so perhaps the kitchen didn't "open" until then. It seemed people who ordered later than us received their food quicker than we did. Certainly wouldn't stop us from going back although we do not live anywhere close to St. Albert. The only other issue is the bill. Upon reading the bill as I type this review, I notice a couple issues. The first is that although I ordered a beer, they had ran out of that kind. I just noticed it wasn't taken off the bill. I will contact the manager and depending on how it is handled, I will either leave my 4 star review as is or will change it to a 5 star, because even though there was a mistake, it was an honest one. The bar was really busy and I can understand that type of a mistake happening. The only reason why I would come back to this place and leave without ordering is if I couldn't get a booth. I am quite short and the bar type table and stools are NOT at all comfortable for me and actually cause me quite a bit of pain if I were to stay for longer than an hour. UPDATE absolutely top notch staff and owners! We planned a date night to come back after not being able to come for a long time and we were not disappointed! Great place to go for a fun night out! Dueling pianos is fun. Not what you'd expect. I'm not sure what all is used to create the music but it's definitely more than just pianos, more like a karaoke machine. They do play the pianos, however. The singing is quite professional and they cover a very wide range of ... music genres with the requests they take. Service was pretty steady. She didn't split the tab so we had some confusion at the end of the night trying to do that ourselves. I'd suggest asking at the start for this. Overall a fun place on Friday and Saturday nights. Went here a little while back to see a live show and was really impressed with the place. The food was fantastic, the venue was great to see live music - not too big and not too small - and the sound was awesome. This place was a great find and ... is a great location if you don't want to drive all the way into the city and fight with traffic and for parking. We will definitely be going back. Read more
