Kyoto Sushi Japanese Restaurant - Edmonton, Alberta

I love this place - my boyfriend and I have been coming here for a little over a year. We happened upon this restaurant and it’s become a staple for us - ordering online and dining in their food is always consistent and delicious. The salad dressing they have is ... unlike any other I’ve ever had and is so delicious! Even when ordering online they take the special instructions seriously. When eating in the service is phenomenal and the food is even better as it’s fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could! I’m not usually one to write poor reviews but I ordered for takeout tonight and my excitement went to disappointment. I have ordered from the Kyoto on 109st many times and have never been disappointed, so I guess location does matter. The tempura was soggy, like the oil was not ... hot enough and the sushi was bland and honestly just tasted bad. Have been wanting to stop in since we drive by all the time and we're glad to have come! Nice quiet Wednesday night so service was very fast and friendly. Definitely try the "Wafu dressing" on your salad!

Went in here at Saturday, 7pm. Place was dead. Should have clued in. Food is terrible. Stale disgusting sashimi had to send back. Portions were minuscule and heavy on the rice. Staff having domestic right in the restaurant. Guys it’s time to do something here. Place across street was packed, ... is overflow really a business plan? My mother was Ill the next day, and we do sushi a lot. You folks need to go to a couple other sushi restaurants and do what they do. Fresh sashimi, big portions, and pleasant environment. Ordered party for family plate, came in with hair in the sushi rolls. We let them know and they offer to get another roll for the one we found hair in. But no one had the appetite to eat after. They still charge us full price. Not going there anymore
