Earl’s - Calgary, Alberta

So we were disappointed on this location in the past and thought we would give it a second chance. Arriving inside it was fast and efficient to be seating by the server. Once we got to our table is when it all went downhill. We waited over 14min (we timed ... it cause this was the reason we left the first time) to be seen by a wait staff and it took my wife and I to make eye contact with the staff standing near the back by the dishes section. Our waiter was either brand new or was overwhelmed by the amount of tables on a Monday evening with the restaurant being half full. We ordered our drink and were not offered any water. We noticed a supervisor go to 4 different tables beside us and around our table and not once did she ask us if we wanted any. She pour each of them a glass water and provided them with a bottle. We order 2 appetizers and our main course for each of us. Food came out in a reasonable time. My order was a burger and wife’s was chicken curry. We were not asked if we wanted appetizers separately from mains. When we saw porter delivering our food all at once. The calamari we ordered was very good. Wings were over cooked and dry then sauce with the wings was not good at all. My wife curry chicken had only 4 pieces chicken chunks in it and my burger was burnt on the bottom and dry. Our waiter asked if we wanted refills after we were finished eating and at that point we both wanted water to wash down the dry food. We understand if you are busy but the restaurant had a lot of empty tables and the lack of attention to details were missed. We made a mistake in thinking this place would be any different than before. We will not be returning to this location again. Read more

This was my first visit, and I am thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere. The ambiance is inviting and enjoyable. The staff, all of whom are young and energetic, provided exceptional service and were very accommodating. I ordered both sushi and steak, and I highly recommend both. The chefs were incredibly flexible ... with my specific cooking preferences and sauces, ensuring everything was exactly to my liking. Additionally, the restaurant offers ample parking, which is always a plus. The space itself is quite expansive, comfortably seating over 200 guests. Went out for brunch on mothers day! Did not have a reservation but got in right away we were on the patio, The hostesses were so lovely and handed me a flower, our server was a gem very kind and sweet, food always delicious! earls team did amazing today, ... to the manager thank you for the flower my family and I really enjoyed today. Definitely a great place to meet up with friends and have good food. Servers are always very nice and helpful but their booking process is a bit too tiring and lengthy for no reason. Last time it took them over 20 minutes to sit us for the table that I ... had booked a few days before our event. Prices are very reasonable and food has been always good. It can get a bit too loud. Fantastic service, what you’d always expect at Earls. Food was pretty good, but this isn’t fine dining. It’s just nice dinning. I’m from London (UK) and fine the pricing a bit over the top. i.e. $20 for 8 chicken wings or $13 for fries. 🚨 🚽 very clean, appreciate the paper towel vs ... air dryer only option, door needs a foot opener for hygiene purposes.
