Steamers Coffee House - Abbotsford, British Columbia

I've been going here for 3 years now! Amazing coffee, and great food. I fell in love with their pesto chicken salad. I'm sad that its the wired monk again. I don't mind it, but they took away all of the original food options which I don't think was a ... good idea, for those who are regulars such as myself. They have amazing iced tea's. I had a terrible visit this morning at this coffee shop. I ordered a grande mocha and breakfast (sourdough, eggs, bacon) - to eat in. Order number 17, it cost about $13, I paid by credit card, at about 8:11am. The drink was ready in 5 minutes - great! (see picture ... below). Waited for the food for 20 minutes. It never showed up, then I checked in with the counter to see what was happening, they looked surprised I was still waiting. I asked them to pack it up because I had to get to work. I stood at the pickup counter and waited another 10 minutes. NOTHING. I had to leave at 8:51am in order to get to work on time. Overall, I waited 30 minutes, and I DID NOT RECEIVE MY FOOD THAT I PAID FOR. Basically paid $13 bucks for a mocha and wasting 20 minutes of my time.... In the past, I have visited this place an average once a month and received good service. This was the first time ordering breakfast there. I doubt I'll go back there again anytime soon. I would've liked to resolve while I was there this morning, but couldn't wait any longer. I hope the owner's of this coffee shop address this before they lose more of their patrons. Read more

Great service and pleasant staff. My latte wasn't quite as I'd ordered, so I mentioned this to the barista. Wow - a smile, an apology, no excuse, and an "I'll make you a fresh one that you'll love! I'm sorry for your inconvenience". That made me a customer who will ... return :-) And the latte was superb! Read more

I go about once a week with a friend; the staff are always really friendly, and the servings for the drinks are huge (compared to other cafes) so the price actually makes sense. The place has always been clean when I've gone there (usually on the Upsidze Wednesdays or Fridays.) I ... think people are complaining about when they used to be Wired Monk, but they must run it differently because I've always found it enjoyable. Read more

Thought I'd give this place a try again, after a terrible experience a year ago or so. Sad to say nothing improved, the service, nor the food! Had a very basic chicken and pesto sandwich and I'm still tasting it hours later! I had just a cup ... of black coffee and it too was just mediocre, no better than any fast food place. Totally over priced and just very mediocre food. There was no presentation either, I had two carrot sticks, obviously cut from OLD carrots and a 1/4 of a pickle on the plate as well, a sorry attempt at trying to make the boring looking sandwich on the plate look better.
