Common Place Cafe - Abbotsford, British Columbia

First, (and last) time dining. Ordered the 1/2 sandwich and borscht soup. Every Mennonite knows that borscht is served with sour cream. When my soup arrived without it, I went to the counter and asked and soon sour cream was brought to my table. At NO ... TIME was I told that there would be a 75 cent fee for the sour cream. This is a fantastic place to go frequent at. I wish I knew about it sooner, since this cafe has been down the street from downtown for 10 years. When I got there, I got a table right away and was offered some beverages. The coffee was pretty great, tasting ... some notes of orange pekoe, yet it was still good coffee. I had the Westcoast Benedict and I really enjoyed it. The benedicts were delicious; the bacon was succulent, the hollandaise sauce was overwhelmingly luscious. Even the hashbrowns were great on their own. The inside of the place has a modern look to it and feels very welcoming, despite the unsightly location. Common Place is still a highly recommended place to eat at for morning and afternoon meals. Read more

Had been here a couple of times and was pleased. The last 2 times was a disappointment in both food and service. Was asked if wanted more coffee then was forgotten about. Food not done right, they did ask if I wanted it redone I said no as I hate ... to sit there with my guest and watch them eat and when they are done wind up eating alone. We went here for breakfast the other day and had a wonderful food experience. The food was great and service was friendly. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

This little cafe is located right beside the MCC thrift store. We have pasted it by on a number of occasions but decided to stop in and give it a try. When we entered, the place was mostly empty, it's brightly lit with natural light from the large windows and the friendly ... staff seated us immediately. I'm not going to claim the food is out of this world, but it's not bad and at a decent price point. You're going to find the standard cafe foods here, all day breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, and the like. What we truly loved about this place was the atmosphere. It just felt very friendly and welcoming. If you're out running around the thrift store or area, you should stop by and give them a try, just a warning ⚠️ it was empty when we arrived but the tables filled quickly during the lunch period.
