Ricky’s Country Restaurant - Abbotsford, British Columbia

Went in for breakfast after staying at the hotel across the street. Service was slow - slow to be sat, slow to have order taken, slow to have food arrive. When I finally waved down our server after 25 minutes of waiting to have my partner's coffee refilled for the ... first time, she said they were slammed. I get it, it's a holiday weekend but her attitude sucked and her apology was not at all genuine! And I could overhear many other tables complaining about the slow service. Plates arrived at least 35 minutes after ordering... And this was two omelettes! Not to mention when food did arrive, my plate was piping hot. I work in restaurants.. I know that means it sat under the heat lamps for far too long. Despite the service, the meals were very good (which is the only reason I'm leaving two stars). Do better. Read more

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Orders were taken promptly and arrived in a timely manner. Food was hot and delicious and the coffee was endless. Great breakfast experience.

So apparently in the evening Ricky's Country Restaurant is full and vibrant and busy. I was delighted to find liver and onions on the menu and indulged accordingly. The server was kind of bring a craft of refill Coke so my soda would not run out. I was further elated ... to find that my dad could have his work for dinner which was real turkey with real potatoes complete with cranberry sauce. The value is definitely there and flavor was absolutely amazing. And the value was definitely there. May not be my cup of tea for breakfast but dinner was delicious and filling the value was definitely there. Read more

This was our first time at Ricky's. Our expectations weren't too high, given that this is a franshise. There weren't too many guests at Ricky's, which led us to believe that the food was not fresh. We ordered fish and chips, and weren't too satisfied with the quality of the food considering the ... price of about $20 for 2 fish sticks, fries, and coleslaw. The skin of the fish sticks was thicker than the fish itself, the fish had no structure and felt mushy. Tasted normal. The fries and coleslaw were just right. I really enjoy the Ricky's Country Restaurant chain. I find the atmosphere to be family style. I'm not a fan of their all day grill locations, but the Country Restaurant is fantastic. At this location they had some unique decor including an old fashioned wood burning stove. The food was ... great. My only criticisms are that the Yorkshire pudding which was very dry and burnt tasting. The "crusty roll" was actually dry and brittle on the inside. Other than that, a great place to dine! Read more
