I haven't tried any in store goods and they may be better, but the cake from Sobeys was dry, flavorless, and borderline inedible. Was expecting more at the $24 price point

So DISAPPOINTED. Went to pick up a Mother’s Day cake and the writing was totally smeared and blurry! Something about the piping bag broke… This could’ve been fixed with 5 minutes of effort. Jeannies bakery is my family and I’s favourite bakery. We get them for birthdays and special occasions but also as a great pick me up for family dinners. There is no other cake like Jeannies. I've seen a lot of reviews of awful customer service at this bakery, and have had many borderline bad experiences myself, but today was met with awful customer service: the counter person was abrupt and impatient to the point of rudeness, served someone else who came in after me (I ... was the only customer in the bakery at the time), and ignored me. For the first time, I left with no cake, and likely will not be back. Such a shame, these cakes have been favorites for years, but there have to be limits. Can't treat a customer politely? A birthday in our house just has to have a Jeannies cake. The chocolate on the sides is incredible and the shortbread on the log cake is delicious. . A Jeannies cake just makes a birthday special.
