Whenever I travel to Winnipeg, my first stop for food is usually Habanero Sombrero. They have a great menu, and my personal favourite is their fish tacos. I can never get enough of them, and I always expect them to be fresh, which I love. The portion size is just ... right, and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I believe that The Forks has come a long way and made many changes to keep up with the times without losing its historical charm. The eco-friendly atmosphere is great, and if you're in Winnipeg looking for amazing tacos, you definitely need to check out this place. Read more
Born and raised Mexican, living in New York for 10 years, came to visit Winnipeg for the first time, I WAS SURPRISED HOW GOOD EVERY SINGLE TACO WAS! Love that they are dedicated gluten free! Makes me feel very safe as someone with a gluten allergy. I tried the chicken, shrimp, and fish tacos. The fish taco was by far the best, definitely have that if you give them a try! The others I would say aren’t worth ... the steep prices, but I’m from the states and used to very flavorful, authentic Mexican food. Read more
We walked through The Forks market looking for lunch and although there are many interesting options, the spot that said “our entire menu is GLUTEN FREE” caught my eye. We were so thrilled to see so many options! We chose a taco platter with one each of pork, beef, shrimp ... and battered fish (so good) and a chips and queso. All of which were delicious.
