Went here for the 2nd time today. I went here years ago and don’t remember any negatives but today was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a sushi restaurant. Firstly, we ate off of takeout plastic containers for the sushi, no plates aloud/only plastic cutlery. Secondly, sushi ... was tasteless, dry and had far too much rice. It was over 57$ for 3 rolls (nothing fancy) and a water bottle, which is ridiculous. Won’t be returning. Wouldn’t suggest you try it out either. Read more
Hands down my favourite sushi place in the city. Fresh ingredients, carefully prepared and the service is always good. Worth the price!
Located conveniently in a mall. Plenty of parking. Take out only , not a fan but oh well. I was already there. It feels like I went back a year and a half when I walked in. Look at the photos and they're self explanatory... The sushi itself was pretty good. Wasn't ... expecting that being that we're in Winnipeg and the ocean isn't close at all. The were tightly rolled for the most part except the ends. They looked like the twisted ends from a joint . Kinda friendly but it's difficult to see when they're wearing a mask. Not for / anti mask just mentioning an observation. On the expensive side. $45.00+ tax for what you see in the photos. Lived in BC for a long time and this would of been a $30.00 ish order. I realize were in Winnipeg... I would go again if I want takeout for sure. Read more
This place is more of a take out restaurant. There are some tables with communal seating. They have a hot water dispenser serving barley tea that is complimentary. We ordered an assortment of rolls to take home as well as 2 salads and a miso soup. I felt everything was good. The ... rice isn't the best, but most sushi places in Winnipeg aren't... The fish to rice ratio is much better here than at other restaurants. I also like that they cut their rolls smaller so it's easier to eat. It's one of the better ones in the city. Not a lot of high end stuff but if you want a solid experience with the Staples, this is a good choice. Pricing is reasonable for what they were offering (not expensive, not cheap). Service was pretty much non existent. They were polite but do not speak much English. Read more
A+ quality rolls on every order we have had so far. Plenty of quality ingredients and large portions of fish in every roll. We will continue to order from here. This is becoming our favorite spot in the city.
