Saffron’s Restaurant - Winnipeg, Manitoba

I went to saffron's to get dry ribs on Sat, June 29/2024. The waitress who was working around 4:30 - 5:00 PM, was rude and had a condescending tone. Once I asked for the bill, I gave her the payment, expecting my change back in return. She was so concerned ... about taking my money that she forgot to clear the table and walked away from the area quite fast. All she said was (BYE)... It's common courtesy to ask the customer if they want their change back. It's just good customer service to do so. She basically robbed me of my money. I always leave a tip. But today I didn't want to leave her a tip because of her service and her tone. I'm not too sure if I want to return if she is going to take my money and walk off expecting that she deserves a tip by basically robbing me. You can't just take people's money. We had booked a table for 12 on the patio, which they reserved for us and called to confirm, which I appreciated. I did not eat this time and was there only for drinks, but the rest of my party ate. A good place to eat, not phenomenal. I will say the yam fries were actually phenomenal, the absolute best part of the meal. We had the seared tuna to start and it was good, not phenomenal. All our entrés were good but I doubt we'd call any of ... them out of the ordinary. The service was excellent, it was a slow Saturday and we got all the attention. Nice atmosphere, although it looks a little tired. It's been around a long time so I suppose it's earned the right to look a little worn. Read more

I heard their chef is amazing. Too bad I don't eat too much🤭 but I ate Ceasar salad in pretty much all the restaurants in Winnipeg, and this one I enjoyed the most😋 The patio season just started. I love it on the patio at Saffron's. Lots of people coming and going in the area. Service is quick and all staff are very pleasant and friendly. I had a cedar although it was very spicey I enjoyed it. My hubby had the dark beer ... and he liked it as well. Our food came out in a timely fashion and was good. I had just a little too much dressing on my Greek salad but it was edible and delicious. I would go back again. Love the area. Read more
