Went late at night. Called ahead to see if they were still open, and they waited for us to arrive. The food was fantastic! So many amazing flavours, and very affordable. Highly recommended!
I am out of words for this place it's excellent everytime i come I'm always happy it's just meketa knows how to treat his customers. And his staff know how to satisfy the customers. The food is beyond amazing finger linking good and after every meal it's a wise idea to ... drink Ethiopian coffee as posted above it'd amazing and it'll wake you up. And it'll give you energy like nothing else thank you amiri and meketa and rest of staff. Read more
Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food, friendly and helpful staff. Their d'Oro Wat and Qeye Wat (sorry if my spelling is incorrect, I am going off of memory for this one) were very very good, and spicy. Their Yebeg Tibs is an easy choice if this is new food for you, and also ... quite delicious even if you have had Ethiopian food before. Be warned that if the menu says "rare" it will likely be raw (safe and quite tasty if you can come to terms with the unusual texture). Read more
Based on everything, it's hard for me to rank them anything out of five but a five. Now, about the food. I've had kitfo, which is to ground beef as sushi is to salmon, that is, rare, if that’s how you order it, at several Ethiopian restaurants now. This ... restaurant served it to me the rawest, and for that, I gotta give them five across the board. Two criticisms, the servings were a bit small, though I still had to have it boxed away, and the cottage cheese was a bit more moist than I had in other Ethiopian restaurants, and I was told that is their regional style. Also, slightly less spicy than I have had elsewhere, though they do provide a side of spice powder for you to match to your taste. This is my first visit in Winnipeg to an Ethiopian restaurant. Without being able to compare like with like, I give this establishment, five stars. Read more
