Went there for the first time in my life . But this was the place my late mother used to go to all the time when she was a little girl as she lived down the street on cathedral. So I decided in her honor to go to her ... favorite place. I wasn't let down. Had a chicken burger and it was perfect. But most of all had a Banana shake which I get at any of these places in the province and I give this shake a 10/10. Great food. Best burgers. Our first time here and we love the burgers. Fresh, fast and great service. You won't find a better burger anywhere. Our new fav place! A must try!

Finally got to this place from a best hot dog listing published last year. It was definitely worth the trip. The hot dog and fries were second to none. Decent music to boot. The North Star Drive In is our new fave summer fast food place!

We drove specifically to eat here after it was recommended by a local that we met during our travels. We were not disappointed! We ordered the Deluxe Burger and it was delicious! We also ordered the Sweet Dream burger….wow!!! That was my favourite! It was ... filled with mozzarella sticks and chili. The chili was fantastic. Also the buns are so soft and delightful. I also had a Nutella Strawberry Milkshake as well…so yummy and creamy. That was our food experience but the customer service was the other amazing part! They were so friendly when we told them we were from out of town and asked the recommendations. I wanted to try both burgers and asked for them to be cut in half. They not only did that but also wrapped them up with one half of each kind in the package. So thoughtful! Then as we were leaving, I stopped back to thank them and tell them how delicious it was. They were gracious and then offered us each an ice cream on the house! My jaw almost hit the floor!!! What amazing customer service. They ended up giving me two flavours to try and big scoops! I was so blessed! The ice cream was also worth the trip……hmmmmm…..creamy…..just perfect! Thank you North Star for making us feel so welcome!!! We can’t wait to go back! Read more

When I was a kid I always loved this place, I remember spending the little allowance I had here. Their homestyle burgers are my favorite in the city. Their prices are a bit steep, but with inflation, they are slowly becoming more reasonable than the mainstream competition. I've had multiple burgers ... from here and their consistency is spot-on. I've never had something from here I didn't like, and the nostalgic St. John's scenery around the place is just chef's kiss. I'd recommend this place to anybody wanting to try a different place to eat. Read more
