Big Smoke Burger - Winnipeg, Manitoba

Big Smoke Burger is located in an outlet shopping mall. This mall had a food court, and I was looking for a burger, but from a place I had never been to before. I decided to try Big Smoke Burger.. and boy, im glad I did! The price for a burger, ... fries, and pop is on par with A&W. There is nothing wrong with A&W, but we have lots of them back home. Burger was juicy and had a great taste. Fries and fresh cut and also tasty. As I mentioned, it's part of a food court, so the atmosphere is just so-so. I was excited to try big smoke at the outlet and was pleasantly surprised by how good their burger was. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, and had good amount of toppings. I especially like that you can see them cooking and preparing it right in front of you so ... you know that the quality is fresh. I also highly reccomend getting their funnel cake fries for dessert - this is a new favorite of mine and it reminds me of churros! I contacted them with the opportunity to address my concerns on Jan 5th before I submitted a review. The burger was raw inside and for the $12 it looks like they left out half of the ingredients. I took pictures and offered to send for their review but as yet ... have not heard back and I have been generous by waiting this long can't imagine if I ate the whole thing and got food poisoning. Legend has it that my girlfriend and I went directly to the outlet for burgers after our workday (around 7 pm)… and yes it was totally worth the 30 min traffic riddle drive. Freshly done, freshly made & conveniently set up for service. The best of it all… thought the man behind ... BSB - still shows up to greet customers after his 9-5. After outlet shopping calls for food! We decided to try Big Smoke Burger for the first time because their line ups are always long and full of people and wanted to see what the hype was all about. Pros: First, there are many options to choose from! Food is made fresh and in front ... of you. Servers follow your order to a T, especially if you requested for no mustard, no bacon, etc. due to allergies/to your preference. I will give 4/5 stars because the French fries were just so tasty and delicious. Had that extra crisp and the perfect saltiness. No wonky soggy fries. Cons: Even though there wasn’t a big line when it was our turn, it took SO long for our burgers and fries to cook. The meals were a bit overpriced for classic burger + cheeseburger combo and the burger wrapping bags were super oily so the paper bag had oil on the bottom (not that big of a deal though, just notifying for reference). Their front counter space could use a nice cleaning/ dusting as you can see from the pic (there is dust) on the menu near their till. Other than that, I did come back recently and will decide which other burgers/combos to try for next time. Read more
