Overpriced, subpar food. I do not understand how people are rating 5 stars, maybe they were lucky enough to get food that wasn't terrible. Beachcomber gets 1 star only because our food was taking SO long, they sent over some complimentary bread (we ordered around 7:15, food didn't come to ... the table until 8:20). Which was awesome, they didn't need to do that. I ordered the fish tacos. Other than the tiniest strip of fish possible in each one, they did look rather tasty and I couldn't wait to dig in. Took one bite, and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. I'm not a picky eater by any means, and I rarely ever say anything in regards to what I order at a restaurant. I had to spit it out into my napkin, I couldn't bring myself to even swallow my bite. I don't know what was in it that made it taste that way? The "tortilla" was hard and mushy at the same time if that even makes sense. There was something in the taco that had a rancid taste I can't even describe. Fries were really good though! I will give them that. Although when I said I was not impressed with the tacos, the server took my entire plate back. I would have liked to nosh on the fries, seeing as how I didn't get my next meal until almost 9:30. I decided to try the angus burger. I should've learned my lesson with the tacos and not ordered anything else. There was way too much relish on it. Overpowering so that's all you could taste. There was relish piled on top of the burger as well as on the bottom bun. Patty was dry, zero flavour. For $18, I should've saved my money and got a better burger from Wendy's. I will never go back, and will tell everyone I can not to bother eating there. Read more
Pretty good food. Could have been hotter when served tho. We had the beachcomber nachos and they were pretty awesome. Lots of toppings and cheese. Ribs were tasty. Chicken in a light brown sauce with steamed veggies. Classic burger and fries. They serve bread with the meal and it's nice ... and fresh. Service was pretty good (but it wasn't busy when we went). We were seated quickly but could have been the time of day. They do take reservations over the phone and also on the internet. Smidgen pricey but considering you're at the forks market it goes with the territory. Overall good experience. Read more
I'm a vegetarian. Me and my friend visited here today. I ordered a veggie burger, my friend ordered a beef burger. But an elder woman server served me a beef burger so I ate beef. I was really really mad at her. It was terrible experience ever.
Prime location at the Forks and priced accordingly. Credit goes to the kitchen and bar for serving better quality food and drinks. Thank you for not cutting corners. All tapas I've ordered are good. A full point off for not having even one local craft beer on tap. This is unforgivable ... for a showcase bar location in Winnipeg. Go for the outdoor seating in season or closer to the river in the sister locale "Baja Crab Shack." Same management, even better views. Read more
