!!!!!! NEVER ORDER HERE. !!!!!! Ordered food through Skip around 8pm. Seasame Chicken tasted like it was cooked with squid. Very fishy tasting. Half the container of noodles were crunchy and the other half were slimy and overcooked. Raw veggies but slimy mushrooms. Tried to call 3 times with no ... answer. Went to the restaurant at 9pm (1 hour before it closes) and it was closed. Made a call the next morning and the owner took no responsibility or care for the food sent out claiming “we haven’t eaten here before” and that’s how the dishes should be. I received my order through Skip and my soup was all over my food in the bag. Also two pieces of hair amount the food also. I called and talked to the manager supposedly and he would take no responsibility for the presentation. His name Lee Yang. I will never ... eat here again or spread a good word about this business. Ordered dry breaded veal and pineapple chicken fried rice . It was THE WORST MEAL I'VE EVER HAD! The' fried' rice consisted of white rice mixed with bland pieces of chicken, absolutely tasteless pieces of canned pineapple and some carrots No seasoning and certainly not fried. The breaded veal was SO ... SALTY it was not edible. I've eaten there many times in the past with no problems. I called to complain. The first response was an apology with the explanation that I needed to call skip the dishes. After some back and forth with the employee and the manager, they agreed to replace my meal. I took it back myself. The veal was again inedible as it was too salty. The rice was redone in soy sauce so it appeared to be fried. No taste other than soy sauce I will NEVER order from there again! Diner beware!! Very bad customer service. Ordered Fish with Black Bean Sauce and Lemon Chicken for take-away. Lemon chicken was rock hard and felt like re-heated leftovers. Out of maybe 8 pieces, only 3 of them actually had chicken inside, the rest were just crispy pieces of chunky breading with ... lemon sauce. Called the restaurant back and the guy said "That's how we make our chicken here". Then he just hung up on me. Not even an apology or offer to replace the item. Very rude. Used to eat here, almost weekly, with friends in the late 90's early 2000's when I lived nearby. The old owners were a very old Chinese couple and we got to know the serving staff pretty well. I hadn't been here since the new owners took over but happen to ... be in the area and chose to have dinner with one of those friends that used to eat here a lot. It was the day before the "Covid status red" lockdown in Winnipeg and my friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant. I was glad to be able to give them some business. I even bought more food to take home for the Mrs. Hopefully, they can stay afloat during this time when many places are permanently closing. I didn't feel adventurous so I chose the typical Chinese food that Canadians find safe. The sweet & sour chicken balls were so so. The breaded veal was really good but I liked the sauteed vegetables the most. If that's the type of food you like and you're in the Garden City area, then you should give them a try.
