You get what you pay for. Quite skimpy sushi most of the time (see photo of the dynamite roll…). It’s fine sushi, nothing amazing, very affordable but VERY inconsistent. They often cancel Uber orders if they want to close early, so that can be frustrating as well especially when ... you schedule the order ahead of time only to have it cancelled at the time it was supposed to be delivered. Ordered take out from Wako Sushi Cafe for the first time tonight. I got the Maki Lover combo, and chose Bakudan, KG, Mount Blanc, Yokohama, and Dynamite rolls. Everything was so delicious! Great quality, and fantastic price for how much food you are getting. And they don't pad their rolls ... with extra rice! Very happy I decided to give them a try, and will definitely be ordering here again. Great job. Read more

My go-to place for sushi cravings. The customer service leaves something to be desired, but I'll deal with a bad attitude for delicious and affordable sushi any day. You just can't beat the quality for the price anywhere else.

Wako Sushi is the absolute best sushi place in Winnipeg, to my knowledge (I’ve tried many places). Other reviews will point out the somewhat curt nature of the service, but it reminds me of the “Soup Na_i” from Seinfeld, in that I’ll happily put up with it because the quality ... and the price of the food is so amazing. I saw a lot of reviews and complaints about their services so I ordered through Uber (problem solved). And so my rating will only be for the food. This is like a “struggle meal/budget” sushi place. So you cannot expect they to use high quality ingredients or compare their tastes ... to other 2-3x more expensive sushi place. Given the price, I think their sushi were decent. The amount of tuna and salmon were quite less than cucumbers, rice and such. And there wasn’t any unagi in the unagi roll (at all). However, the chicken and shrimp tempura rolls were actually pretty good with big pieces of chicken and shrimp. Not a place for good sushi, but definitely a place for affordable sushi. So yeah, if you decide to order from them keep in mind their price and make sure you are okay with the trade off. Read more
