Visited Banh MI King a couple of times while in Winnipeg for an event at the university. The staff were friendly and welcoming; they happily made recommendations. The first time I visited, for dinner, I had the Stewed beef pho- warm and aromatic with tender beef that ... crumbled in my mouth(no photo, unfortunately😭). The next time I visited, for lunch, I got a charbroiled pork banh mi and a macha milk tea with boba. The pork was a perfect mix of sweet and savory, complemented well by the dressing and fresh veggies, on bread that was wonderfully fresh. If I return to Winnipeg, I'll be back here for sure! I want to first say I love banh mi king especially the sandwiches and the flavouring of the pork. Decided to try something new on the menu and ordered shrimp salad rolls. PLS ORDER SOMETHING ELSE, the salad rolls are not it. It was overfilled with noodles and vegetables with ... only 2 pieces of shrimp that are not cut in half to be evenly spread across the roll. Food was full-flavored, consistent since the first experience. Appetizing as always but a little greasy. Tried the stewed beef pho as usual and it was unique and the ingredients compliment it's taste. My fave, aside from the broth being greasy but, considering the generous and tender meat on it ... was perfect especially when you pair it with their beef baoger. Their buns was soft and haven't tried this unique baoger elsewhere. On the top corner was their porkchop and rice meal, pretty sweet and tender (tocino like), and a must try.
