Went for afternoon tea. The ambience was lovely and everything looked pretty. You get pretty full because of the tea but thankfully you can take home the things you’re not able to finish. The service was top notch. Our server Rod was really great. In fact, everyone working there was ... pleasant. Overall, a really exquisite experience Read more
I had a very odd experience with The Velvet Glove restaurant. I called on Wednesday, May 1 to make a reservation for Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. for two people. The first question asked was whether I wanted to reserve a room or a restaurant seating, which I ... thought was odd because I had called the number for the restaurant or so I thought. I said the restaurant and they said they didn't think it was necessary but took my name anyway. When I arrived at 6 the next day I was told the restaurant was closed but the lounge was open for food. I am curious as to when the restaurant is actually open? Read more
We went for the Romeo and Juliet afternoon tea . Unfortunately, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The food was very disappointing, the buns for the sliders were hard and stale. The savoury sandwiches were not very flavourful either. The desserts were below average as well. The best thing in that set ... were the biscuits and the clotted cream. Overall, many of the sandwiches and desserts felt stale or unflavourful. What made this experience sour was the long wait for our drinks and food. Once seated, we gave our orders. After 30 minutes passed of watching other tables get their drinks and food who were seated well after us. Our server finally notified us that our drinks were coming soon and was behind due to a lack of staff. The alcoholic drinks were too strong to be enjoyable as it was just pure alcohol. For a high tea experience, other places have done it better for a justifiable price point. Our server was very nice and the biscuits were good. But other than that I wouldn’t recommend the high tea to others. Read more
Went to le petit chef for anniversary date night and absolutely loved it! The meal was wonderful and excellent attentive and friendly service. Would absolutely return and recommend. Fun experience. The spin on a caprese salad was probably my favourite dish surprisingly, it was amazing! It should be returning next ... year and we are absolutely planning on going again Read more
Went for high tea. Lovely atmosphere with really cute table settings and tea pots. The food was delicious, I especially appreciated how they made my out of town guest welcome; first when we were seated at the table and on our tiered tray in chocolate. Very cute!
