Service is usually good other than the takeout container fiasco they had on wing nights where they wouldn't allow you to take your uneaten wings home. We are regular customers and noticed the quality of wings aren't as good on their wing nights as they are on the other nights. ... It's like they use totally different (lower quality) wings for wing nights that are way smaller and many have broken bones. When we go there on wing nights and have a couple orders of wings each and each of us get at least 3-4 broken wings in our orders of 18 wings. The broken bones can be sharp, I would recommend the kitchen avoid using that particular brand of wings. We also noticed the spinach dip has gotten smaller and is not a good value for the price anymore. Pizza and fries are good, staff is friendly and service is usually quick ****Update as of June 2024 Some stuff has improved but the biggest problem nowadays is the kitchen staff cant seem to keep up with other tables when they have a table or two with 6 or more people ordering. We have been there multiple times and it's the same thing each time. It seems like the staff spend all the time catering to those bigger tables and the end result is the service for all of the other people seems to suffer. This isn't a one time thing. If you walk into the lounge and see a big group, like a table of 10 or a couple tables of 6 you might as well expect a hour for your food or come back later. I come here for coffee meetings and the staff is always nice and friendly. I have been coming to this location for years, ever since it became Smitty's- so it has sentimental value and fond memories of having way too much caffeine and hanging out with friends. I grew up ... near Selkirk and this restaurant is what I consider a social hub in the community. They have tons of room so it feels like privacy can be had which makes for a good meeting place. I've come for wing nights in the lounge and always order a ceaser, I'm a fan of theirs, when I'm lounge side. Didn't eat anything. Ordered a gin and tonic and was told they were out of gin. So I ordered a vodka tonic. The server was very gracious and apologized profusely when she told me they were out of tonic. So I ended up with a vodka lemonade which was what ... was to be expected. The service was decent. The waiter was overly enthusiastic, which I think must be part of their training. It was quite clear you needed a smile plastered on your face to work there. The food was good but not great. Some of the portions were rather small. ... Some things were VERY well cooked. The breakfast is probably the best value menu item. I’d go back for breakfast but probably skip the rest due to the mentioned small portion sizes. The VLT area reeks of old cigarettes. The bathrooms could definitely benefit from a deep cleaning as they were not very nice. The main dining part of the restaurant was clean. Read more
