World Marathon Ethiopian Restaurant - Windsor, Ontario

My first time here and the food was delicious. I treasure being able to find and try unique, authentic experiences from other countries. I've never eaten a meal with my hands before. You scoop up the food with the crepe-like bread provided. Wonderful flavours. I will definitely be back.

The best restaurant in Windsor! Hands down. An amazing family own it and they make you feel so welcomed like you are apart of the family! Food is always fresh and the flavors always hit. Never disappointed ordering from them, owner always makes sure to give me enough bread ... because he knows how much I love it. I probably order from here atleast 3 times a month, that's how good it is. I always get the meat combo over rice with injerra bread and a side of cabbage. Trust me! You will not be disappointed! Ethiopian restaurant that served up such flavorful food! Their menu has ample options for vegetarians! They offer the dishes with Basmati Rice or with Injera, which is the traditional crepe made of teff flour. Their food has a range of spice options, which can be adjusted. We also tried ... the 'sambosa', would've preferred a sauce/side. If you go as 5 people, try the coffee ceremony! Worth a visit if you like a lot of flavor in food! Read more

Family owned restaurant. Fun place to share food and eat with your hands. The injera (crepe like bread) is your utensil. The vegetarian combination plate is a great way to try 5 of the vegetarian dishes. Great flavors and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. Medium spice was ... enough. The sambosa appetizer was good but didn’t come with any dipping sauce. The drink menu is very basic but Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc paired nicely with the spicy flavors. Prices are very reasonable. First time here. Service was great as the owner and his son took care of us and helped us with questions and suggestions. This is an authentic restaurant so there are no utensils. You have a form of fluffy crepe that you are to pick up you your food with. Food was ... very tasty. I would highly recommend for anyone that is a vegetarian. In fact I honestly enjoyed the vegetarian selections more than the meat. Favourite was the red lentils and the eggplant. If you are looking for something different and truly authentic for Ethiopian food this is the place. Read more
