This is my favourite local steakhouse. Located in White Rock, it has a cozy, smaller atmosphere with high end food like your in Vancouver. Great steak and seafood. Perfect service and nice atmosphere. Good place actually, with rich bar and else. But(!) it’s a steak house at the first, and steak wasn’t good. I was hangry and ate it, but it was worse as cheapest steak from place like “Denny’s”. I ordered delmonico in medium-rare. And it was ... overcooked, plus I don’t sure, that it was “40/50-day-aged Angus Signature Reserve beef gold AAA+”, as they say in their menu and website. Manager Katya was very kind. Had a fantastic date night. First time we have been and the food was amazing (bone in ribeye, Gorgonzola mashed potatoes, Brussels in honey,). All were cooked to perfection and we loved their a la cartel steak menu so we could personalize our experience. My husband adored the prawn appetizer and ... stuffed garlic bread (think delicious mini parcels of flavour) along with his smoked old fashioned. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Onyx last Sunday. Murat greeted us and gave us exceptional service over the evening. It’s obvious he’s worked in the service industry for many years! I had hoped to order the prime rib however I had not indicated on our reservation that I would ... like the prime rib so it was not available. I will remember that next time however that gave us a perfect opportunity to try out some of the new dishes on their happy hour and regular menu. My husband had the prawn linguine and I had the ahi tuna. Both were delicious! We ordered a side of brussel sprouts which were done beautifully! My husband had a glass of the house wine which he said was very good. I had a lemonatti, Onyx’s twist on a lemon drop martini made with vodka infused with thyme and lemon. Now that was a delicious martini…so good I enjoyed 2! We finished our dinner with 2 delicious desserts…poached pear and creme brûlée trio. WOW!!! We decided to celebrate our anniversary in this restaurant, and we had an amazing dinner! From the delicious food to the good vibes and specially MURAT! He made our night so amazing, thank you so much! We will for sure come back!
