Great view of the pier! Foods were decent as we ordered standard items: Blue shrimp pizza, fish & chips & fried calamari. Fried calamari was served with diced tomatoes and green chive combined together created a very fresh tasty dish. Blue shrimp pizza was tasty ... served on a thin crust. Had a delicious lunch on the patio overlooking the ocean. The food was great, as was the service. The calamari is of the best I’ve ever had, as was the ahi tuna bowl. We really like Charlie Don't Surf and it's been a go to for us for decades now. The patio or just inside the opened lifting doors are the best! Great view of the ocean as you enjoy drinks and a bite to eat in the laid back atmosphere. The ... Pic is inside seating bit as you can see, the open wall is almost like an extension of the balcony. This has always been a favorite of our for years but today they dropped the ball! We made reservations for my birthday. I had the Ahi Tuna salad, the tuna was so dry on the outside. The texture was as if they had let it sit in a fridge unwrapped, the ... dressing was flavourless and the greens were wilted and bitter. I couldn't eat it. My son got the Pepperoni pizza which the sauce had no flavour and it was ok. Hubby and daughter got the Clam Chowder which was still good. I also has the red sangria and I didn't finish it either, didn't know you could screw that up! Lol Service started off good but after the food came, nothing and no one came to see how our food was. Looking at my un eaten salad it wasn't hard to figure out something was wrong. No one asked how our food was. About an 30 mins an hour later my daughter and husband have had an upset stomach and I feel gross. We stopped in for lunch and I tried. Charlie’s world famous fish and chips and they were actually really good. They were crispy on the outside and nice and warm and tender on the inside. The place is pretty nice and feels a bit touristy. Our server was pretty good, ... although the service was a little slow and a little too much upselling. The kids enjoyed their pasta which was nice.
