was very excited to try montgomerys fish and chips after hearing all about it! price is decent, 1$ cheaper than its neighbouring restaurants. size was alright, but they only gave us 1 medium sized piece unlike other restaurants that offer 2/ a giant piece. when we started eating the fish, ... it was a bit too soft for our liking and the crust and the fish crumpled pretty quickly. the aftertaste of the fish and chips wasn’t the best either, as it left a bitter/metallic like taste. Amazing food. Frosted glasses. On the beach. Historical mom n pop. Whats not to love. Seriously up your F&C game! No other place in this vicinity even comes close in comparison. Nice light super crispy coating on high quality slabs of white fish. Served on a mountain of home made ... chips. Zero grease! Not kidding. Not one drop of grease on the plate. My family’s go here very time we’re in white rock. The fish and chips is amazing, and cooked perfectly. The owner and staff is also very accommodating and offered to just fry my gmas fish since deep fried hurts her stomach. Fresh succulent fish wrapped in the thinnest, crispiest batter I’ve had on fish and chips! Most of the patrons are repeat customers who have been visiting for years. Overheard one saying they have been patronising the place since the 1950s! Sadly there was no clam chowder when I visited. Maybe I’ll ... have better luck next time.
