It’s a very nice restaurant. Dim lighting with a rustic modern look. Generally food was pretty good though when we think about it afterwards nothing stood out so clearly. We had the burrata and tomato salad which was very nice. Also the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar is ... good. My daughter’s kids spaghetti ragu was very good. Kids will love it. The octopus was tender. The lobster linguini was creamy with a little hint of spiciness. The ravioli was solid but nothing special. All together is was a nice solid meal, portions are good but for the price I would have hoped a dish would stand out more. Read more
Me and my wife came here during our brief visit to Whistler. This restaurant was a delight to dine in. We both got the 4 course prix fixe menu. The crostini was not heavy on flavor but surprisingly refreshing, and very appetizing; the risotto was very rich; the tagliatelle's bolognese ... sauce didn't look like much but the flavor was so intense and so amazing. All the staff here, without exception, appear very well-dressed, very well-presented, very well-trained, and very well-mannered. Overall, nothing but praise for this place. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, the pre-meal bread here is...for a lack of better word, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. I was never a bread guy to begin with, and most restaurants I've been to that serve bread before meals, even the supposedly fancy pants ones, the bread felt like an after thought - either stale, or dry, or flavorless. Not here in Il Camentto, no way, no how. Their bread was salty, soft inside, with a nice crust outside, and when dipped in olive oil + balsamic vinaigrette, it was mind-blowing. I was shocked, and had to ask for second piece, something I've never done anywhere else. Yeah if you go there, be sure to give the bread a try, even if you're not a bread person. Read more
We ordered one appetizer, and three entrees. The appetizer was served quickly followed by some free foccaccia. But we waited for another 40mins to get our entrees and they were served all together. The food was great but staff were too busy to be friendly or attentive. My favourite was ... the veal stew which was super flavorful and tender, followed by the fregola sarda with mixed seafood! We had dinner here and the service was incredible given how busy the restaurant was. The environment felt super fancy at first but as the night got busier, we felt more relaxed. We ordered a lot of dishes to share. For appetizers, the tuna and chestnut soup was really good, but ... the carpaccio was nothing out of the ordinary. For mains, I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was way too salty for my taste. The gnocchi was amazing though!! Its sauce is probably the best I’ve ever had. We also ordered the pizza which was really good too. Before the dishes came out, a manager came out and told us they accidentally burnt the pizza but they’d make us a new one, which wasn’t a problem. When the daily special, the lasagna, came out, there was a really vibrant neon-green stain on the cheese (last pic). We asked the waiter what it was and apparently, it’s from the food-safe seal that comes on the cheese. The chef took it back, put some fancy salad leaves to cover it, then sent it back to us. Also, for dessert, the salted caramel was delicious! Overall, the service was great, but the food wasn’t worth a special trip for. (Also side note, the table beside us ordered the pumpkin ravioli which was supposed to come with a brown butter sauce. It didn’t come with sauce and they had to talk with the chef to get some.) **Google Maps Review for Il Camineto Restaurant** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an excellent experience at Il Camineto Restaurant! The service and food were outstanding. 🥐☕ **Food:** **Antipastos:** - Burrata Caprese - Gem Lettuce ‘Caesar’ **Primi:** - BC Wild Mushroom + Asparagus Risotto **Dessert:** - Tiramisu ✨ **Flavor:** **Antipasto:** We ordered two antipastos to share among four people: Burrata Caprese and Gem Lettuce ‘Caesar’. The ... combination of flavors between the elements harmonized very well, although in my opinion, it lacked basic seasonings like salt, pepper, or olive oil. **Primi:** I then ordered the ‘BC Wild Mushroom + Asparagus Risotto,’ which was excellent in flavor, seasoning, temperature, presentation, and portion size. I found it to be a very attractive dish as it uses regional products and is a great vegetarian option. **Tiramisu:** One of the best I’ve ever had. The sweetness was just right, the flavors were balanced, and it complemented my espresso perfectly. ✨ **Presentation:** The presentation of all the dishes was well-balanced, attractive, and beautiful. 🤵♀🤵 **Service:** Our waitress, Sonia, was very attentive and service-oriented, giving us her full attention whenever needed. She was very kind, and her recommendations regarding the menu and wine list were spectacular. She recommended a white wine that even red wine lovers would like to drink, it was fresh and flavorful, and perfect for pairing with our dishes. Additionally, the other waiters behaved professionally at all times, providing excellent service. 🍽 **Infrastructure:** We sat on the patio, which was elegant, beautiful, and harmonized well with the overall ambiance. ✨ In general, an excellent experience with harmonious flavors and wonderful attention. Thank you to the entire team for your excellent service! Read more
