Culinary magic, artistry on a plate! French-Asian inspired dishes prepared with the finest ingredients! Staff were attentive, knowledgeable and anticipated our every need. Topping off the evening was the Grey Goose Vodka Ice Room! A truly unique mountain experience.
I ordered the Spring 4 course menu, I would actually qualify it as a 3 course as the amuse bouche to me is not a course. The price was good but….there are quite a few up charges , so beware! I was asked if I would like a basket of ... bread, I had ordered a cocktail and said sure $8 ( I forgot to ask if it was complimentary) I only had a couple of slices of very nice sourdough. The octopus tartare that I selected was outstanding unfortunately cannot say the same for the main entree ( the Cornish hen) It was presented cooked two ways. The far meat was very good, moist and well seasoned the breast was dry and bland 😒. I took the dessert to go, the raspberry , that was also a big disappointment as the almond shell tasted stale to me. My total bill was over $100 ( 1 person) with a cocktail and 1 glass of wine ( Tantalus Chardonnay $21) The last thing I wanted to mention was the service and it’s more of a curiosity, I went for my dinner on a Sunday. One of the options that I was considering was the oysters and I had my server advice me. She recommended I go with the octopus ( good option) however I was left wondering if these are fresh Oysters would the kitchen want them promoted? What happens if no one orders them? An expensive loss, no? Read more
The Bearfoot Bistro Sugar Shack offers a perfect balance between the original sugar shack experience and a more gastronomical approach. It retains the rustic charm and traditions of a classic sugar shack while elevating the dining experience with creative and refined dishes that highlight the versatility of maple syrup. What a ... great experience! On top of that, the service was amazing. We started our evening with delicious maple syrup cocktails, which set the tone for a memorable dining experience. Additionally, we received a fabulous wine recommendation to pair with our meal, enhancing the flavors and overall enjoyment of the evening. Being originally from Québec, this dinner brought me back home for a few hours! I highly recommend this experience to anyone - whether you're a passionate fan of sugar shacks or a first-timer. Was recommended this from a friend who was raving about the champagne room experience. Memorable food, delicious- and atmosphere. Server was nice and good service. The only complaint is that the bartender was a bit rude to us. I felt like he was condescending. From what I can ... remember, it was because we wanted to come in for some kind of dinner and champagne room experience but it was not available at that time, or that day (don’t remember exact details but I remember how I was treated left me feeling.) It’s understandable and I feel no entitlement and was not trying to be “cheap”, however that’s how I felt when the Barman treated and spoke to me- belittled. From what it seemed he just wanted me to buy champagne, which worked to benefit making money but was uncomfortable to me as a customer. The rest of the experience could have made up for it but now every time I come to town and consider dining here I decide not to else due to that one negative experience. Negative experiences and feeling disrespected tends to be more memorable than the positive aspects, especially when it’s a special occasion. In this case, for my birthday celebration dinner. Beautiful food, both visually and in flavour. The "Cod for Two" was especially nice. Cooked to perfection - flaky yet moist. Very good vegetarian options for our "Veggie Friend" The lobster in the lobster special was cooked too long and therefore a bit tougher than you'd expect for $60. We mentioned it ... to the server and the response was "Oh, I'll pass that along." Rather than, let me fix that and get a proper replacement. (Disappointing response given we had brought our out-of-country guests and had built this restaurant up in their minds before hand). Read more
